Dear Mr. Perdue:
As an American consumer, I strongly oppose the unnecessary use of antibiotics
in poultry production to promote animal growth and simply increase corporate
profits. Europe banned the use of human antibiotics in livestock
promotion in 1998; and growth-promoting antibiotics in livestock feed have
been banned for over a decade in Sweden.* And evidence suggests links
between antibiotic-resistant bacteria and overuse of antibiotics in livestock.
This practice could be putting my family's health at risk.
I urge you to stop the unnecessary use of antibiotics in your food
production.
Sincerely,
